Renovation: Kitchen Inspiration

The kitchen is slowly coming together. The biggest challenge with this room is the walls. When we first moved in every inch was tiled. Well, actually it was double tiled. As in, rather than removing the old layer of tiles the previous owners just tiled straight on top. I think we have gained about 4 cm on the dimensions of the room just by removing them! Of course the walls were left in a bad way. We have the new floor in, the cabinets up and I’m slowly working my way around the walls – filling, sanding, plastering, sanding, painting. I’m hoping by the end of March we will have all the final touches done but in the mean time I thought I would share with you some images I have found inspiration in planning our design. And, just to wet your appetite, here is a little sneaky photo of our progress.
